Seriously, she’s left cute, missed anime, and hit gross.

    You gave her:
Age lines under eyes - yes, they were there, but you made contrast
Her eyes are bug-eyed - humans look normal, bugs look 3d, anime looks flat
The lighting on her face no longer matches the other parts of her body - especially neck.

You need to destroy the gradients, not simply amplify them, make them look flat. The idea in cartoon characters is that you have a limited palette (fewer colors = fewer inks = cheaper) - Typically detailed backgrounds (you only print them once) and shapes.

It’s a cool-idea - especially if you can step-it out for new-bies, but work it out a bit more.
Play with the idea of adding a layer and painting shapes on it.
Or, using some of the built-in filters.
Apply your face technique to the whole of the image.
Try to get each portion down to about 5 colors and the whole girl in as few as possible.

I’m not sure what everyone is talking about here. I think it looks awesome for the steps that it was done in. Way to go on this one.

Uhm…. It’s a good way to make the girl look freaky….
If she were to really look like anime….
    1. Her head would be pointy looking and a little more square.
    2. Her body would also be pointy looking.
    3. Her torso would be shorter and skinnier.
    4. Her legs would be longer and skinnier.
    5. Hey eyes would be of different proportions.
    6. Her boobs would be bigger [[Seriously. Go compare a normal drawing to some manga.]]
    7. Her hair would be a bit funkier and not as close to her scalp.
    8. And the colors and shadows of her would be flat.

So yeah…. Give it another try.

Oh yeah and the anime facial proportions are not lower down! They are in the exact center of an anime person’s head, just as ours are! It only appears that way because their mouths are lower, their noses are smaller, and their hairlines tend to be high up and they have really big hair!

I reckon its really good apart from her left eyebrow(when we look at it its the right eyebrow) It’s a very good attempt to make her anime-looking. What ‘pIXIEsTIKaDDICTION1213′ says may be true, but its true for 2D images and because you used a 3D image, it changes, am i right? :D plus i’ve read a lot of manga and anime and the 8 rules pIXIEsTIKaDDICTION1213 gave you do not apply to all of them. Try reading more realistic and now manga for example, Yamato nadeshiko shichi henge. :D good manga X3
