Design Your iPhone Widgets
If you notice, the iPhone "home" UI design is very similar to, if not the same as, the OS X Dashboard design. This tutorial will teach you how to create your own widgets, and you'll be able to use those icons for your Websites or Avatars. Let's start by creating the background interface where the Widgets appear. (Colours are optional, you can leave it white). Since shortcut keys are different on Mac and PC, I won't be making references to them. Instead I will be referring to Photoshop's top menu and submenus, but I do...

Pixel2life, one of the biggest tutorial sites on the Web is featuring Tutorials 2.0 as its "Tutorial Site of the Week Winner". The folks at Pixel2life are amazing people (I contacted them once) and they were kind enough to let us share our tutorials on their site. Tutorials 2.0 Community Grows Again
We've been dugged, again, this time with Renyn's latest tutorial: Jelly Remake. It received a lot of attention in the front pages on digg and del.icio.us. While many thought it was cool, some had questions on specific steps. Not to worry, your questions have reached the author. That's the advantage of having a community like Tutorials 2.0 - while we're learning new ideas from the tutorials here, future entries can benefit from your feedback. Oh, allow me to introduce myself: I'm Meng To, I've been establishing and maintaining various communities since 2000. Here's a little...
Being digged to the top 10
I spent the morning with a friend (Adam from Google) optimizing the Tutorials 2.0 site as we faced tremendous traffic, having made it to the top 10 stories on digg.com. We've had more traffic this morning than in the past week, that alone says a lot. Thanks to him, we got the site functioning like it should, again. (On the side we were also watching Steve Jobs run his show about the new Apple iPhone :D.) It's been an unbelievable day so far, I'd also like to say thanks to Jason from empiredezign.com who's...

Digital Girl Photo Manipulation Part 2
This tutorial will show how to transform an ordinary image into a digital piece using Photoshop, intended for intermediate to advanced users. (Click the images for larger views) First of all, you need to find a picture (you may also take a scanned photo). In this example, we used a 300x240. If your image is not big enough, you can zoom in for easier manipulation. The image is initially locked when you open it. Double-clicking on its layer allows you to rename and unlock it, let's call it "Original". Duplicate the layer and name it...
